CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Launches Safe City Project in Sheikhupura, Expanding Security Initiatives Across Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Safe City Project in Sheikhupura, with similar projects scheduled to launch in four other major cities across the province in the coming week.

During the October 25 inauguration, CM Maryam toured the Safe City control room, examining the video wall, body cameras, rugged smartphones, and other state-of-the-art communication equipment. She observed real-time monitoring operations designed to enhance public safety.

The Sheikhupura project includes 273 cameras positioned at 52 critical points throughout the city. These high-tech cameras will facilitate automatic e-challans for traffic infractions, monitor the Air Quality Index, and support a Facial Recognition System to help track and identify criminals. The project also introduces panic buttons at ten locations and free Wi-Fi access at 15 public sites.

CM Maryam met with local assembly members, where she received updates from the District Police Officer on law enforcement and from the Deputy Commissioner on progress related to CM-led initiatives, including construction work on the Sheikhupura-Sargodha Road.
